Val Vashar I discovered the band when it already stopped existing. Irrelevant. Great album. Great musicians that I will definitely listen to in other bands. The lead vocalist, Martina, has an enchanting voice that I can listen to non-stop.
My recommendation is to get a vinyl release of the album! Favorite track: The Others.

Medicine Man 04:00
Hey Mr Medicine Man There's a man who had my heart in his hands Hey Mr Medicine Man Had two hearts, still had no zen Shadow and light shape every man Shadow and light shape the spirit of a man Shadow and light in the choices he makes Color the soul and the heart of a man Hey Mr Medicine Man Bring the light back to that man Hey Mr Medicine Man Heal the soul, heal the heart of that man Use all your lotions Cast all your spells Use all your potions On the heart of that man Light up the candles Sing all your chants Light up the darkness In the soul of that man Hey Mr Medicine Man Use all your medicine

Just like a shadow They never leave an open door behind They leave you hanging Like a picture on the wall And then they're gone To find something New to feed upon The room is trembling like a river But the air feels so dead The doctor says it could be Some kind of fever Or even Something worse And he shouts in verse Can we get a nurse To reverse this curse Come hell or high water It comes and goes Like the trains at the station It moves like a tropical storm That forms above the ocean It sucks up all the water And it strikes those lovely beaches Swarming with people Who saved for months just to reach them My fair weather friend You said you'd stick till the end Come hell or high water

Cruel Heart 04:57
I never asked from you to walk on water Maybe somebody else couldn't be content without such feats I never asked from you to ask for my permission God forbid me if I ever did Cruel heart Cruel heart Cruel heart You will weep I never should, never could, never would've made it through without you I never should, never could, never would leave you or grieve you I never should, I never could say all these things to you Cruel heart Oftentimes at night I get that awful feeling When things go wrong I'm the one who's always guilty And I'm the one who always pays the price I lie awake at night staring at the ceiling Thinking about the life that slipped away from my hands Cruel heart Cruel heart Cruel heart You never sleep I never should, never could, never would've made it through without you I never should, never could, never would leave you or grieve you I never should, I never could say all these things to you Cruel heart Cruel heart I'm getting too old to talk like a child with you

Sugar 05:41
My heart is colder than silver My promises are made of gold You've been sleeping in a bed of diamonds baby But diamonds are made of coal Love is as sweet as any sugar But tears are made of salt Some people just waste your time But they're keeping you involved I'm your sugargirl I'm your sugargirl Don't leave me alone in the rain Sugarman They say I got a bad name I heard them blind dogs bay Yeah I got a lucky charm Honey you can't keep me away It's crazy enough of you to fall in love with me Baby it's hopeless Cause the devil's trapped in our sheets And he's lying there helpless I'm your sugargirl I'm your sugargirl Don't leave me alone in the rain Sugarman Well if there's a place called Heaven They would never let me in If this Earth is God-given to us Then why must we be blind to sin If I ever had a conscience It must have died on wine If I ever had a heart I bet you a nickel It wasn't worth a dime I'm your sugargirl I'm your sugargirl Don't leave me alone in the rain Oh sugar... Seven long years I've been waiting sugarman Seven black magpies will carry you to me sugarman

Sometimes I get hungry cause I got a forgetful mind Other times I'm so fed up I just wanna break down and cry Sometimes I'm happy, other times I'm not Sometimes nobody in the world wants what I got But most of the time I'm just ordinary alright I'm fine Sometimes it seems like everything is either black or white Other times I swear I could find a rainbow in the darkest night Sometimes I'm so high I smell like a skunk Other times I'm cold sober, no liquor in the world could get me drunk But most of the time I'm just ordinary alright I'm fine Sometime I get nervous, like a cat I grow eyes on my back Other times I swear this old Peugeot turns into a Cadillac Sometimes I look like a tygress, othertimes I feel like a kitty (meow) Sometimes this little town feels as big as any city But most of the time I'm just ordinary alright I'm fine I feel fine Ordinary alright I feel just fine If you don't mind

The Others 03:43
Oh no, we're not the same We don't have the same names We're all thrown into this This world As it is We're thrown into this Born into this We're all born As it is They teach us from day one Different rules and laws to obey Before we even learn to say Yes or no to this game We're all thrown into this Born into this We're all born As it is You don't get to choose your truth or lies If you never jump the walls of your little tribe Outside of your tribe There are other rules and laws And there are other truths to be told Outside of your walls We are the others We don't have the same mothers We're not the same We don't have the same fathers We're not the same We're the others We're not the same We don't have the same names We don't have the same aims We're the others

Mermaid Tree 04:00
Traded sea for land Now my home my friend There's an island down in the south Where I chose to spend the rest of my time Long time ago when we were young You sailed the seas and I followed you around Never set my tail on the ground Sea was my home, sea was my town Come to me, I wait by the sea Play me a tune about the far desert dunes Now my hair is green My tail, once blue, now brown roots I'm still singing to the waves I just put away my swimming suit Used to be a maiden of the seas Now a tree in the sun never leaving the ground I still breathe the ocean breeze And I sing out your name in hope that you'll come around Come to me, I wait by the sea Play me a tune about the far desert dunes Come to me, I wait by the sea Play me a tune about the lands that a mermaid tree can't see Come Come to me Come I wait by the sea...

There's a part of you And a part of me Buried under A sycamore tree A part of you And a part of me Lying in the shadow of A sycamore tree A sycamore tree grows in my baby's garden Sun is high, salt hardened her hair Oh it's not fair All the best things – now forgotten Underneath that sycamore tree we got married Its shadows hold the love that we carried No matter where we go a shadow of woe Reminds us of a life that we buried A sycamore tree grows in my baby's garden Sun is high, salt hardened her hair Oh it's not fair All the best things – now forgotten Underneath the sycamore tree Lies a part of you and a part of me A part of you and a part of me Buried underneath the sycamore tree

I don't believe in things like hoodoo But I know that you do There were so many worlds before ours And each of them took a whole lot of Time and power Building it up And tearing it down Deja vu train coming Boxcars burning Beneath the mercury moon It will be here anytime soon If I too shall die in commotion Bury my heart at the bottom Of a deep blue ocean Memories fire from the back of my brain Shooting through my mind Like bullets through soft rain Help me mamma I'm a refugee Deja vu train coming Boxcars burning Beneath the mercury moon It will be here anytime soon

Dirty Water 02:18
Lyrics: Fire water got the best of me Muddy water won't let me rest Cold water might be good for you But I can't get dirty water off my chest Dirty dirty dirty water All I get is dirty water You can have what's left of me Whatever it's worth be my guest Just let me be what I need to be And help me get dirty water off my chest Dirty dirty dirty water All I get is dirty water

Baby Steps 03:20
Ever noticed how fast the time rolled on From the day you were born till the time you've grown Taking baby steps Taking baby steps Got a place to sleep, got food to eat Ain't like those hungry cats dragging down the street Taking baby steps Taking baby steps Take it easy baby We're takin baby steps From now on Like mamma said If you're feelin down Like mamma said Your luck will turn around Like mamma said If you're feelin low Like mamma said It's a chance to grow Call it bad luck sugar, call it what you will Your heart might be empty right now But it will get refilled Taking baby steps One at a time Taking baby steps That make life Take it easy baby, we're takin' baby steps from now on
